What is the best Suzuki SX4 S-Cross Model for you?

Suzuki SX4 S-Cross

If you want the style and raised ride height of an SUV at an affordable price, there's no need to look further then the Suzuki SX4 S-Cross. There are three Suzuki SX4 S-Cross trim levels and three different engines to choose from, so here's a quick look at the Suzuki SX4 S-Cross range to help you decide which variant is going to be the right one for you.

The SZ4 is the entry point to the SX4 S-Cross family, and it currently starts from as little as £14,999. The standard engine is the 1.0-litre Boosterjet petrol engine that puts out a healthy 109 bhp and comes with a five speed manual gearbox, and it offers a combined fuel economy rating of 56.4 mpg. Standard features include: air conditioning, DAB digital radio, LED daytime running lights, a Bluetooth integrated audio unit with steering wheel mounted controls, cruise control, engine auto stop/start and 16-inch alloy wheels. For an entry model there's also quite a bit of advanced safety kit included too, such as: ABS with EBD and Brake Assist function, hill hold control, ESP, driver's knee airbag and a tyre pressure monitoring system.

The mid-range version of the SX4 S-Cross is the SZT, and it gets the same standard engine as the SZ4 but this time it can also be had with the optional automatic gearbox. This model does step the price up to £17,749, but it does add a lot of extra features for that money. Instead of the manual air conditioning this one gets dual-zone automatic air conditioning, but it also gets auto headlights and rain-sensing windscreen wipers, front and rear parking sensors, LED projector headlamps, satellite navigation, a rear parking camera, keyless entry and start, larger 17-inch alloy wheels and rear privacy glass. Suzuki's ALLGRIP 4-mode 4-wheel drive system is also available with this model, and the SZT also offers the option of upgrading from the standard engine. If you want a diesel this is the first model in the range where you can have Suzuki's 1.6-litre turbodiesel that develops 118 bhp and a combined fuel economy rating of 67 mpg.

The SZ5 is where the S-Cross gets really upscale, but the price is still extremely impressive starting from just £21,749. On top of the SZ-T standard specification, the SZ5 adds the likes of: leather seats that are heated in the front, a panoramic sunroof, radar brake support, adaptive cruise control and a front centre speaker. But the real reason for the significant jump in price from the mid-range model is the standard inclusion of ALLGRIP four-wheel drive, and a more powerful standard engine. Buyers can still choose the 1.6-litre diesel if they prefer, but the standard powerplant in this one is a 1.4-litre Boosterjet petrol producing 138 bhp and a 0 to 60 mph time of less than 10 seconds.

Which model is most suitable for you depends on the features that are most important and your budget. To find out more, to arrange a test drive and to discuss finance options for the Suzuki SX4 S-Cross, don’t hesitate to get in touch with us today here at Monty's Sheffield.
